The Local Organising Committee, in charge of the upcoming SPAR European Team Championships, held at the Stockholm Olympic Stadium on 18-19 of June (www.stockholm2011.org), is pleased to announce the three Swedish ambassadors chosen for the championships - Carolina Klüft, Christian Olsson and Michel Tornéus. Sweden has claimed its position in the highest division and will, during the championships, compete against the top nations in Europe. The organising bodies are European Athletics, Swedish Athletics, Stadium Clubs and the City of Stockholm. Carolina Klüft, one of Sweden’s top ranked athletes, is expected to compete in long jump and 4x100 relay. Klüft is excited over her “new mission”;
- The Team Championships is a great event! It’s up to the team to succeed. To be able to compete at home, in Stockholm, inspires us all.

Reports from the Swedish training camp in Formia claims Christian Olsson is back! Olsson, the triple jump champion, has shown good form and eager to compete. Christian is a given high profile at the Team Championships.
- We are all very excited to have Sweden back in the highest athletic division, competing
with and against the best athletes in Europe. Imagine the thrill to actually do it in Stockholm and in front of the home crowd.

Michel Tornéus, finalist at the European Championship in Barcelona last year as well as at the Indoor European Championship in Paris last winter, is eager to compete in his hometown and is looking forward to the event:
- I am a native of Stockholm and I am looking forward to compete where the home crowd is. It will be very fun and I expect to do my best.
